Initially nutty with hints of soft spice and a distinctive umami flavour, it slowly gives way to citrus notes before moving towards a finish which is soft and creamy.

Three Americans, having moved to Puglia and discovering this incredible 2,000-year-old bread, decided it was a vodka waiting to happen!
