Fr’um The Darkside

A delicious twist on Trader Vics Mai Tai recipe. The gentle heat of the scotch bonnet and cake spice flavours of the Fr'um work perfectly with the nutty almond syrup beautifully balanced by the tart limey citrus notes.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Fr’um
  • 25ml pineapple juice
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 10ml orgeat
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • A sprig of mint”

Method

  1. Prepare the Glass: Chill a rocks glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the Fr’um, pineapple juice, lime juice, orgeat syrup, and Angostura bitters.
  3. Add Ice: Fill the shaker with ice cubes, then seal and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  4. Strain: Empty the ice water from the rocks glass. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish: Slap some mint to release the fragrant oils and add to the glass.
  6. Serve: Enjoy the sweet, tropical flavours.”
