Kyoto Mule

A classic, fresh and spicy cocktail that is taken to the next level and given a delicious twist with the addition of Heavensake Junmai 12 sake.


  • 45ml Heavensake Junmai 12
  • 30ml Vodka
  • 20ml Spicy Ginger Syrup
  • 15ml Cucumber Juice
  • 15ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 100ml Sparkling Water
  • Ice cubes


  1. Prepare the Copper Mug:
    Like a Moscow Mule, this is best served in a copper mug. Fill the mug with ice cubes to chill it while you prepare the other ingredients.
  2. Add Heavensake Junmai 12 and Vodka:
    Pour 45ml Heavensake Junmai 12 and 60 ml of vodka into the chilled copper mug.
  3. Add Cucumber and Lime Juice:
    Using a squeezer, juice the cucumber and add 15ml of the juice along with the juice of half a lime into the mug.
  4. Top with sparkling water:
    Pour 100 ml of sparkling water over the ice and other ingredients in the mug.
  5. Stir Gently:
    Use a stirring stick or the handle of a spoon to gently stir the ingredients together. Be careful not to damage the copper mug.
  6. Serve:
    Serve the Moscow Mule immediately while it’s still cold and effervescent.
