A rare spirit

Blue Duck Rare Vodka is inspired by the endangered Blue Duck endemic to New Zealand and, despite being widespread throughout New Zealand, now only live in small numbers on clean, fast-flowing rivers and face a risk of extinction.

Known by Maori as Whio, named for the whistling call males make, whom they hold a strong cultural and spiritual connection with.

We raise funds for our charity partner by making a donation with each bottle sold, helping them to protect the Whio's habitat and enable population growth.
