Equiano Ominira is the first release of Equiano's exclusive Legacy Blends Series that celebrate the art of blending African and Caribbean Heritages and the remarkable journey of their namesake, Olaudah Equiano. In Yoruba, a language spoken by many in West Africa where Equiano was born, Ominira means ”Freedom”. The Freedom to create and to marry vintage rums from the African continent with rare rums from the Caribbean.

This is a rare blend of perfectly aged rums, respectively distilled by Foursquare Distillery and Gray’s Distillery, and matured in Bourbon and Cognac cask with a touch of Sherry cask rum, contributing to its incredible depth and richness. It’s matured for a minimum of 11 tropical years.

Bottled at 52% ABV, mirroring the age of our protagonist at the start of his extraordinary journey and at his passing in 1797, this creation is a true testament to the passage of time and the artistry of the blending process. The result is an extraordinary piece of rum history — a libation that encapsulates Equiano's freedom and spirit. An invitation to celebrate, toast, and share with friends.
