All starting with a group of friends drinking a bottle of American Rye Whiskey and asking themselves why, in a country that’s known for its Rye, there was no Finnish Rye Whisky. Finland is a new distilling culture, so rather than looking to create a Scottish style of whisky or an American style of Rye, the team at Kyrö started with a blank canvas and set out to create their own style.

The Heart Cut enables spirit lovers to taste and experience casks from a variety of global distilleries. From small innovative producers in unexpected locations to internationally renowned brands, each bottling has been hand-picked for both its flavour profile and story.

Released periodically throughout the year, each carefully selected cask has been picked in collaboration with the partner distillery, telling their personal tale of people, provenance and the pursuit of crafting distinctive flavours through the art of production.

We were founded by two spirits and, in particular, whisky enthusiasts who have both worked in the drinks industry for over a decade each. We’re deeply passionate about spirits — not just drinking them with friends — but learning about their stories, enjoying new flavours and talking to the people who craft them.
